On June 18, 2024, Lin Liangjun and the Binjiang Sewage Treatment Plant Self-Help Association held a press conference in Taipei. They accused the former Mayor Ko Wen-je administration of planning to plant trees around the Binjiang Water Resources Regeneration Center, leading to discontent among residents facing forced acquisition at a lower price compared to a previous airport acquisition. Taipei City's Public Works Department stated that the acquisition plan complies with laws, passed through land valuation committees, and is essential for upgrading sewage treatment to meet sustainable development goals by 2030. The Department affirmed fair land acquisition practices and the necessity of the public infrastructure project.
