Tech giant Amazon has announced it will inject an additional $1.4 billion (approximately $45.3 billion NTD) into its 'Housing Equity Fund' to expand efforts in constructing affordable homes for the general public in Seattle, Nashville, and the Washington metro area. This brings Amazon's total investment in this housing initiative to $3.6 billion. The company aims to assist middle-income families who struggle with rising housing costs and has faced criticism in the past for contributing to increasing property prices near its facilities.
