Amazon's Wondery podcast unit has reduced a small number of jobs, affecting both content and advertising teams. This follows a review of team structures, with the company stating that certain roles were no longer required. Wondery, acquired by Amazon in 2020, has faced operational cuts, including the closure of its business in Brazil and Mexico. The company has also been reducing jobs across various departments as part of a cost-cutting strategy initiated by CEO Andy Jassy.
