Amazon Web Services has announced plans to invest at least $5 billion in South Korea by 2031 to establish new AI data centers, as part of the country's goal to become a leading AI hub in Asia. The investment was confirmed during a meeting between AWS CEO Matt Garman and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at the APEC summit, where a total of $9 billion was pledged in investments from various companies over the next five years. This initiative aims to enhance the AI industry ecosystem in South Korea.
