A fire broke out in an apartment on Zhongshan 1st Road in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung, on the morning of July 4th, 2024. Two young sisters were playing with a lighter at home, leading to the tragic death of the 2-year-old sister. While their grandmother managed to escape with one granddaughter, the other was found dead in the charred room. The fire was extinguished by 10:09 a.m., and the cause is still under investigation by the authorities.
