Apple's iPhone sales in China surged by 52% in April compared to the previous year, according to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). The increase in shipments of foreign-branded phones is attributed to Apple's dominant presence in the Chinese smartphone market, following a rebound in sales after a weak start to the year. Apple's sales saw a 12% increase in March and are expected to receive a further boost in May due to aggressive discount offers on select iPhone models.
