Argentina's Milei outlines plan to move towards dollarization.

Reported 5 months ago

President Javier Milei of Argentina has outlined his government's economic blueprint to dollarize the country, aiming to have both the peso and the US dollar as legal tender after clearing the central bank's liabilities and reforming the financial system. Milei plans to stop printing pesos and let the dollar take over as the dominant currency, eventually leading to the disappearance of the peso. He aims to lift capital controls once all debt is cleared, allowing for competition between currencies.
