Authorities have arrested a man in Singapore named Yunhe Wang for allegedly running one of the world's largest cybercrime botnets, called "911 S5," which operated in nearly 200 countries and amassed around $99 million in profits over almost a decade. Wang is accused of selling access to the botnet's network of 19 million infected computers to criminals who used it for identity theft, child exploitation, and financial fraud, including pandemic relief scams. The takedown resulted in the seizure of $29 million in cryptocurrency, and the FBI estimated that the network caused over $5.9 billion in losses due to fraud against relief programs.
