U.S. auto retailers Sonic Automotive and Penske Automotive reported disruptions to their operations on the third day of CDK's cyber outage, affecting the management software tools of some automobile dealers. CDK, a software provider for car dealerships, shut down its systems in response to a cyber incident. Sonic's dealerships remained open with workaround solutions, while Penske's commercial truck dealership business continued to operate through manual processes. Kia America also collaborated with affected dealers to minimize disruptions, while CDK did not disclose the number of impacted dealerships but serves over 15,000 retail locations in North America.
