Bangladesh has reduced its power purchases from India's Adani Power by half due to lower winter demand and a payment dispute involving hundreds of millions of dollars in dues. Adani Power had previously reduced supply over payment delays linked to Bangladesh's foreign exchange shortages. The two countries have a long-term contract from 2017, but rising costs and high rates charged by Adani are pushing Bangladesh to reconsider its energy agreements.
