After the New Taipei Kings won the PLG championship, owner Wang Wenxiang proposed forming a new league, receiving support from the Sports Administration Director Zheng Shizhong. However, the Basketball Association stated that the new league is not in their plans, focusing instead on integrating the existing PLG and T1 leagues. Yet, the new league released a statement announcing their first preparatory meeting and planning for the new season to start in November, with nine teams already expressing their intent to join the new league.
