As the weather gets hotter after the Dragon Boat Festival, many people rush to turn on their air conditioners upon returning home. However, Taiwan Power Company advises two things to do before turning on the air conditioner to make it colder and more energy-efficient. Firstly, open the windows to ventilate and let the hot air dissipate, allowing the air conditioner to cool more efficiently. Secondly, clean the air filter which can save up to 10% of electricity costs per year. Pairing with a fan for better circulation and closing windows and doors after the air conditioner is turned on are also recommended for optimal cooling and energy-saving.
