According to a report by SET News, Xi Jinping has been infiltrating Taiwan's media, where national security personnel have revealed five techniques used. These methods include renting studios from Taiwan media outlets, leasing office spaces in Taiwan for direct guidance to the media, setting up WeChat groups with specific media for news distribution, hosting dinners with journalists to gather information, and inviting media personalities to China for visits. National security officials warn that these tactics, along with others such as facilitating collaborations between media and Chinese companies or controlling online public opinion through PR companies, aim to influence Taiwan's media landscape. They emphasize the need for the public to strengthen media literacy, avoid reliance on single sources, and develop a habit of fact-checking for accurate information to effectively counter foreign interference.
