The benchmark price for diesel fuel has fallen for the fifth consecutive week, with the latest average retail price reported at $3.704 per gallon, 40.5 cents lower than recent highs. However, potential military conflict in the Middle East and a decrease in refinery profitability may lead to higher diesel prices in the near future.
