On June 28, 2024, at around 2:31 am, many public places have escalators installed for convenient movement of people. However, when using escalators, it is important to be vigilant as accidents happen easily, potentially risking lives. According to the Japanese media 'Joshi Jishin', escalator accidents in Japan between 2018-2019 reached 1550 incidents, which is about 2.3 times the number from 2003-2004. Factors such as carrying luggage or pushing strollers make people lose balance, especially on escalators with varying speeds. Various incidents, like a man's fatal fall due to a handrail malfunction in 2009 and a woman almost losing her life due to a misstep, highlight the dangers. The Japan Elevator Association advises passengers not to walk or run on escalators, not to use them with carts or wheelchairs, and to firmly grip the handrail for safety.
