Reported 11 months ago

As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, the temperature rises, making it a peak season for insects like mosquitoes, black flies, fleas, bird mites, and chiggers to be more active. Intensivist Dr. Huang Xuan warns travelers to be cautious of these insects when venturing out. He advises wearing long-sleeved clothing, using insect repellent, avoiding contact with birds, and keeping the environment clean to prevent bites that could lead to severe reactions or diseases. Chigger bites, in particular, can cause intense itching and potentially fatal Chigger Disease if left untreated, with a mortality rate of up to 60%.
