A family who frequently used lard in their cooking led to 2-3 members suffering from strokes and even a 10-year-old child developing high blood pressure. Expert Tam Dun-ci, known as the 'Toxic Mother', shared tips on choosing cooking oils and advised against consuming lard due to its high saturated fat content, which can raise bad cholesterol levels. She recommended oils high in monounsaturated fatty acids like tea seed oil, olive oil, and rapeseed oil to improve good cholesterol levels in the body.
