The Chicago Blackhawks moved up in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft by trading five picks with the New York Islanders, acquiring picks No. 18 and No. 50 in exchange for picks No. 20, No. 54, and No. 61. With this trade, the Blackhawks jumped two spots in the first round and four spots in the second round. They now have a total of eight draft picks in 2024, including the No. 2 overall selection, with six of the picks in the first three rounds.
