On July 1, 2024, BlackRock, the world's largest asset management company, announced the acquisition of UK data service provider Preqin for approximately $3.2 billion, aiming to expand their online investment management platform with Preqin's data services in the private investment market. Following the merger, Preqin's data services will be integrated with BlackRock's asset management software Aladdin to provide fund managers with more comprehensive data, research, and investment management services, allowing professionals to more effectively view and adjust daily investment portfolios.
