Due to the ongoing respiratory epidemic, combined with hot weather and the summer vacation season, blood donations have significantly decreased in Taiwan, resulting in the blood bank only having a supply that can last for 4.9 days. The cities with the lowest supply include Taipei and Taichung with 4.6 days left, and Kaohsiung with the lowest at 4.2 days. A and O blood types are in highest demand, and donation centers urge the public to donate blood. A blood safety inventory typically ranges from 7 to 10 days, with below 4 days considered as in critical shortage.
