Taiwanese fishery association director Lin Shijie, previously involved in a Tainan mayoral bribery scandal, was shot and killed in front of his home yesterday, sparking public outcry. Premier Su Tseng-chang, along with other government officials, addressed concerns in the legislature raised by Kuomintang lawmaker Lo Ming-tsai, questioning the relation of recent gun violence cases in Tainan to solar optoelectronics. Su stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing and all possibilities are being considered. Tainan, dubbed the 'City of Rejoicing Records', has seen major security issues recently. Su emphasized the government's commitment to tackling organized crime, corruption, and maintaining public safety through various special task forces. Despite ongoing doubts raised by lawmakers, Su reassured the public that efforts are being made to swiftly resolve the situation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
