Bolivia is experiencing a significant rise in cryptocurrency adoption, particularly with Tether's USDT being integrated as a payment option in car sales by major automotive brands like Toyota and BYD. This shift comes in response to a dollar shortage in the country and follows a regulatory change that recognized digital assets, allowing companies like Toyosa to facilitate USDT transactions. The momentum for crypto in Bolivia is also reflected in a dramatic increase in crypto payments, with $294 million processed in the first half of 2025, a 630% increase from the previous year.
