Reported about 1 year ago
A 29-year-old man in New Taipei, Lin, borrowed 100,000 NTD from a friend to make ends meet while unemployed. When the debt accumulated and he couldn't repay, the lender, along with two others, went to Lin's house to discuss the debt. Lin's response that he couldn't repay led to him being beaten and kidnapped. He managed to report the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of the debt collector, an 18-year-old surnamed Qiu, and two others, one of whom was involved in drug-related crimes and the other in fraud. The case is being processed by the authorities.
