Brazil's Lula Appoints Bradesco Trader as Central Bank Policy Director

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has nominated Nilton David, the head trader at Bradesco bank, to be the next monetary policy director of the central bank from January. This appointment comes alongside two others and, if confirmed by the Senate, will shift the committee's balance towards Lula’s preferred members in a key role overseeing financial policies, particularly foreign-exchange operations.
