According to a report on CTi News website on June 23, 2024, at 8:46 PM, at 5:19 AM today, a small van collided with a roadside transformer box in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung, leading to a power outage affecting 826 households. The incident resulted in significant damage to the transformer box and nearby parked vehicles, causing the outage in the area. Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) promptly restored power to over 90% of the affected users. The driver, a 27-year-old man surnamed Ding, was found to have a 0 blood alcohol content, and the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation by the traffic police.
