On June 22, 2024, at 2:15 am, according to CTV News, the New Taipei City Health Bureau received reports from the Taipei City Health Bureau and the Xizhi Cathay General Hospital on suspected cases of food poisoning. 5 and 3 individuals (all from the same family) respectively experienced symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting after dining at Hongwu Curry at Far Eastern Plaza on the evening of the 17th and sought medical attention. 7 have since returned home, while 1 remains in mild hospitalization. Immediate inspections revealed hygiene deficiencies at the eatery, and improvements have been demanded. Further lab tests on the curry pork cutlet omelette rice are expected to be released in 2 weeks. The Health Bureau advises food operators to enhance hygiene practices and adhere to food safety regulations to prevent foodborne illnesses.
