According to SET News on June 24, 2024, at 1:35 am, during the active bee season, a land surveyor from Taipei City's Land Administration Office in Neihu District was attacked by a swarm of bees while measuring satellite positioning on the Neigou Mountain trail. He was stung on his right cheek, neck, and right arm, leading to a panicky situation with colleagues calling for emergency assistance. Taipei City Fire Department rescue personnel promptly transported the man to Zhongxiao Hospital for treatment, accompanied by his colleagues. Animal control officers also arrived on the scene but did not locate a beehive, suspecting that the surveyor may have encountered patrolling bees from a nearby nest as the incident occurred in a mountainous area.
