Due to the influence of southwest winds, various regions are experiencing extreme heat, with a scorching wind event already occurring in Taitung County. The Central Weather Bureau issued a high-temperature special alert for 17 counties and cities today, urging the public to take precautions when going outdoors. Taitung County has an orange warning with a possibility of reaching 38 degrees; other areas like Taipei City, New Taipei City, and more are under an orange warning for the likelihood of consecutive days with temperatures reaching 36 degrees. Measures to prevent heat-related illnesses are advised, especially for vulnerable groups and those working outdoors. Additional precautions and cooling methods are recommended to combat the high temperatures.
