As of 4:40 am on June 18, 2024, due to the vigorous development of convective cloud systems, the Central Weather Bureau issued a special rain warning for 11 counties and cities in Taiwan. There is a probability of localized heavy rain or torrential rain in mountainous areas of Nantou, and localized heavy rain in Changhua, Taichung, New Taipei, Taipei, Keelung, Yilan, and Miaoli to Taoyuan, as well as in mountainous areas of Hualien. Residents are advised to be cautious about lightning strikes, strong gusts, and potential landslides. Nantou County is under an alert for torrential rain, while Keelung, Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Yilan, and Hualien are under alerts for heavy rain.
