Due to the strong convective cloud system, the Central Weather Bureau issued an immediate alert for heavy thunderstorms on June 8, 2024, at 8:56 am, lasting until 9:45 pm that evening. The alert areas include Yilan County and New Taipei City, warning of potential severe rainfall, lightning strikes, wind gusts above 9 on the Beaufort scale, flash floods, landslides, and flooding in low-lying areas.
