Reported about 1 year ago
Former chairman of the Taoyuan Arms Citizens' Association Zheng Wen-Can, who is involved in a corruption case related to the Hua Ya Land Development during his tenure as Taoyuan Mayor, was summoned for allegedly accepting a bribe of 5 million yuan. His bail was revoked after a successful prosecution appeal, and the High Court sent the case back to the lower court for further consideration. The Taoyuan District Court is scheduled to hold a hearing on July 9 in the morning. The High Court determined that the original ruling did not provide clear reasons for Zheng Wen-Can's remand, questioning the necessity of remand and potential collusion among accomplices and witnesses. They found the original ruling to be inadequate and sent the case back to the district court for a more appropriate decision.
