President Javier Milei has announced a reduction in export tariffs on Argentine soybeans and other agricultural products in response to farmers' calls for relief. The new rates will lower tariffs on soy meal and oil from 31% to 24.5% and on soybeans from 33% to 26%. Despite his libertarian stance against tariffs, Milei acknowledges the necessity of maintaining some revenue from these exports to support budget surpluses. Farmers have shown strong support for Milei but continue to struggle amidst low global crop prices.
