A female student in Xiamen, China, was accused of theft by school canteen staff when she bought 2 lunch boxes and took 6 pairs of chopsticks. The staff even falsely claimed to the police that 1,500 spoons were stolen. After the incident, the student prepared over 10,000 pairs of chopsticks to distribute for free outside the school canteen. The school has since intervened, and the canteen has stopped allowing students to take chopsticks on their own.
