Buying Medicines and Cosmetics Abroad Only for Personal Use, Reselling Will Be Penalized

Reported 12 months ago

With the peak summer travel season approaching, Taiwanese travelers often purchase medicines, cosmetics, and medical devices overseas. The Food and Drug Administration reminded on July 3 that if the purchased items fall under 'medical devices' by law, such as contact lenses, medical masks, or sanitary pads, they must be for personal use only and reselling or using for other purposes can result in fines of up to 1 million NTD. Regulations regarding the quantity and personal use limits on medicines, cosmetics, and medical devices were also clarified for inbound travelers.
