Chinese automaker BYD has rejected allegations of poor working conditions at its factory construction site in Brazil, claiming such reports are intended to tarnish Chinese brands. A task force had reported that 163 Chinese workers were rescued from what they described as 'slavery-like' conditions. BYD announced the termination of its contract with the contractor responsible for the site due to concerns about working conditions, while a video showed workers defending their situation and stating their desire to continue working.
