Wightman calmly addressed the bear, asking if it was nice and eventually sprayed it with water to encourage it to leave. This incident highlights the frequent bear sightings in the area, with over 370 sightings and several home intrusions recorded in recent years, prompting measures like bear-resistant trash cans and a ban on feeding wild animals.
