California's Post Fire Scorches 230 Acres in 2 Days

Reported 8 months ago

Wildfires have ravaged a large area in northwest California due to hot and dry conditions, burning an equivalent of 230 acres in Big Basin Redwoods State Park, forcing 1,200 people to evacuate. The fire has spread rapidly with strong winds, threatening multiple structures, and engaging over 400 personnel, 70 engines, and 2 bulldozers in firefighting efforts. Firefighters are facing challenges in combating the Post Fire due to steep terrain, limited visibility, and unpredictable wind conditions, with only 2% containment achieved by Sunday night, but fortunately, no injuries reported so far.
