In Taoyuan City, a victim was lured by financial investment advertisements, leading to him investing all his savings but unable to withdraw the money. After realizing it was a scam, the victim, in cooperation with police, arranged to meet with the fraud group at a convenience store. When the 41-year-old driver surnamed Lai came to withdraw the money, police immediately arrested him and found 11 forged employee IDs, receipts, and $50,000 in illegal funds on him. Lai kept claiming he was sent by the company's manager and didn't know anything. The police reminded the public to be cautious with online investment schemes to avoid falling victim to scams.
