Reported 7 months ago

Yahoo News reported that the Central Weather Bureau issued an updated severe rain alert this morning, expanding from the original 3 southern counties and cities to 8 counties and cities south of Miaoli. Due to the influence of southwest winds, there is a possibility of localized heavy rain in areas from Miaoli to Changhua, Nantou, and south of Chiayi in the mountainous regions, hence the need to watch out for lightning strikes and strong gusts. The counties and cities under the severe rain alert are Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung. Additionally, the Central Weather Bureau also issued a heat advisory due to warm temperatures affecting the entire island, with the likelihood of heat convection occurring in Taitung County and a warning for high temperatures nearing 36 degrees in Hualien County. Taitung County is under a yellow signal, requiring vigilance.
