Chairman Lin Beifeng of the Alliance Suggests Basic Wage Increase Should Not Exceed 3%

Reported about 1 year ago

In response to the issue of raising the basic wage, Chairman Lin Beifeng of the Alliance stated yesterday that continuous increases might lead to higher labor costs and inflation, resulting in companies reducing employment. He suggested that the basic wage increase for 2025 should not exceed 3%. Lin Beifeng emphasized the impact of previous wage hikes on labor and health insurance, driving up prices and operational costs for enterprises. The Alliance hosted their June monthly meeting yesterday featuring a speech by the former Mainland Affairs Council Minister on the development of cross-strait relations amidst US-China competition. Lin Beifeng also expressed expectations for the establishment of the National Climate Change Commission and the importance of maintaining peace in Taiwan's governance.
