In Jiangsu Province, China, a chef surnamed Zhang was accused of stealing steamed buns by his company, leading to a public notice posted by the company on the bulletin board. Zhang refuted the theft accusations and sued the company for damaging his reputation. The court ruled in Zhang's favor, awarding him 5000 yuan (approximately 22,000 NT dollars) in compensation for mental distress. The company's surveillance footage showing Zhang leaving work with a bag of steamed buns was countered by Zhang's explanation that colleagues gave him excess buns to prevent waste due to his diabetes. The court found the company's actions unfair and ruled in Zhang's favor for both trials.
