Former Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je violated council resolutions by persistently holding the Ke Shuangcheng Forum before leaving office, resulting in an outstanding 1.07 million TWD debt. Ko's wife Chen Pei-chi stated that she would immediately pay if the city government issued an invoice, but urged future mayors to pay out of their own pocket and avoid double standards. In response to the increased Chinese military activities around Taiwan, Ko questioned the continuation of the forum, while Taipei City councilor Chiang Wan-an promised to respond appropriately. The tension necessitates communication, but mutual goodwill is currently lacking.
