Chen Yu-Hsuan, a new resident in Chia-Yi, has been planting Houttuynia in a friendly and natural environment in a one-acre field in Zhongpu, Chia-Yi for over 20 years. She was selected for the '10th Immigration Agency New Residents and Their Children Dream Project - Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Group' with her project 'Six and a Half Sweet Legend' and received an $80,000 grant. Chen's journey into planting Houttuynia began after a serious illness a few years ago, which led her to discover the benefits of the herb and sparked the idea of starting her own business. With her family, Chen practices eco-friendly farming methods, organizes events to promote food safety, and aims to educate more people about the benefits of Houttuynia. Despite the challenges in agriculture, Chen is grateful for the support from the Immigration Agency and is determined to continue her farming endeavors.
