Chicken Association Calls for Further Reduction in Feed Prices! Not Excluding Protesting at Ministry of Agriculture in July

Reported 8 months ago

Due to the imbalance in supply and demand of eggs, the price of eggs at the production site has been continuously reduced to NT$27.5 per catty, which is lower than the cost of NT$32 per catty. The Taiwan Poultry Association has called for feed mills to further reduce prices, as feed prices have already been lowered by NT$1.2 per kilogram. The association leader Huang Rongzhen urged for an additional reduction of NT$0.6 in July, threatening to protest at the Ministry of Agriculture if not met. Despite recent price reductions by feed mills, Huang believes that more reductions are necessary to balance the cost, as the current egg price is causing losses for producers.
