Chile Recovers from Major Blackout Affecting Millions

Reported about 7 hours ago

Chile is recovering from a massive power outage that left 8 million homes without electricity and disrupted major copper mines, marking the worst blackout in 15 years. Power supply has been restored to 94% of clients, but some areas still lack electricity. The government has enacted a curfew and declared a state of emergency to prevent disorder. President Gabriel Boric condemned the situation, attributing the blackout to a fault in transmission lines, while operations at key copper mines like Codelco's were also affected.
