China's northern regions are currently facing a severe heatwave with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees, entering a 'roasting' mode where anything below 42 degrees doesn't make it to the top ten hottest places nationally. Areas like Xinjiang's Turpan even recorded surface temperatures reaching 75 degrees, prompting netizens to liken the heat to facing 20 hot blow dryers at once. The heatwave has led to surface temperatures exceeding 60 degrees in some regions, with parts even surpassing 70 degrees, while forecasts predict continued high temperatures into mid-June.
