Many electric vehicles can be controlled remotely via smartphone, but a car owner in China revealed that his Ideal car app account was suddenly locked, preventing him from using the app to unlock the car door and requiring him to use a traditional key. Ideal Car responded that this was due to the car owner's app account violation triggering automatic backend system lockdown, sparking a dispute over vehicle usage rights. Similar controversies of remote locking by car manufacturers in China have been reported previously, raising concerns over consumer rights and data privacy.
