China Launches Rocket Over Taiwan's Airspace with Drone Approaching Pengjia Islet 49 Nautical Miles Away

On June 23, 2024, the Ministry of National Defense revealed an activity map of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) entering the airspace around Taiwan. PLA carried out sea and air activities with 6 warship and 15 aircraft sorties, including 8 aircraft crossing the Taiwan Strait's midline into the northern and southwestern airspace. Additionally, a rocket was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan, passing over Taiwan's airspace at an altitude above the atmosphere. The PLA's continuous disruption prompted heightened surveillance by Taiwan, with drones and support aircraft approaching Pengjia Islet 49 nautical miles away.
