China’s Cofco Considers Selling Last Chicago Grain Terminal

Reported 6 months ago

Cofco International Ltd., the trading arm of China’s largest food company, is exploring options, including selling its Chicago grain terminal, the last of its kind in the city. The facility, located in the southern part of Chicago, is not as efficient as before, and a potential sale would follow Cofco's relocation from downtown Chicago to the suburbs due to high costs and crime. This move comes after the company sold its Milwaukee facility last year, with the Chicago terminal remaining a delivery point for commodities traded on the CBOT.
