Reported about 1 year ago

On July 6, 2024, the Philippine Coast Guard stated that China has dispatched its largest tonnage coast guard ship measuring 165 meters in length to anchor in the Philippines' exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea with intentions to intimidate. Despite this, the Philippine side remains steadfast and has dispatched personnel and ships to confirm China's intentions, demonstrating a firm resolve to defend sovereignty including the Ren'ai Shoal.
